" particularly good edition of this excellent magazine! There is a fantastic 5-page article featuring Outdoor Photography's choice of this year's winners. David Webb's image of Bamburgh Castle looks particularly stunning as a double-page spread"
Wow where's the time gone, it seems an age since my last blog so I have alot to share with you.

Landscape Photographer of the Year Exhibition
Judy and I had a fantastic trip to London's National Theatre to see the exhibition. After checking into the hotel we made our way to the exhibition. As we had a bit of time we had a look around the excellent Christmas market - there was a wonderful atmosphere making it feel really Christmassy. It was quite cold out and somehow or other we found ourselves having to keep warm in a pub - these things happen lol.
A large glass of wine later and we made our way to the National Theatre. Outside the Theatre they were projecting the 100 images and the names of the photographers onto a giant screen - I felt as proud as punch.
Inside there were some great images on display. It was a great opportunity to mix with other photographers and meet Charlie Waite a renowed professional Landscape Photographer. In addtion to that we met Jim Carter a renowed actor - currently featuring in Downton Abbey - who has appeared in many films and dramas over the years.
During the evening I was blown away when one of the other exhibitors asked if I would sign the awards book - which featured the 100 photographs and more - he went on to say that he thought my image should have won.....he knows his stuff thats all I can say lol.
Below is an image from the night, I quite like this image.....wonder who the photographer was!!

Outdoor Photography Magazine

As part of the success of having an image commended in Landscape Photographer of the Year competition, Outdoor Photography magazine Christmas 2011 issue 147 edition, published a feature showing their selection of the best images. I was delighted to see that they had included my image, not only that, but they had given the image a double page spread.

Ben and Sue's Wedding
Weddings are an honour to share and enjoy with a couple, family and friends and this wedding was no exception.

The 5th of November was Ben and Sue's big day at the beautiful Copthorne Hotel on Newcastle's quayside.
The day started with capturing Sue's pre-wedding prepartions. Its such a pleasure to have the opportunity to be apart of this and to feel the anticipation, emotion and excitement.
The wedding preparations continued when Ben, John, Jamie and Charlie arrived at the hotel looking the business in their suits
It was a lovely service, full of emotion, love and giggles.
The weather was lovely for the group shots and individual shots of the new Mr and Mrs Hodgson.
This was followed by photographing the speeches and sharing the laughter - they were hilarous and its great to capture the expressions on the guests.
Here are a few images from this wonderful day.

Sarah and Michael Pre-Wedding Shoot at Washington Old Hall
The pre-wedding shoot took place at the end of October at Washington Old Hall, where Sarah and Michael are getting married in January 2012.
We were fortunate to get a really nice morning - having had to postpone the shoot from a couple of weeks before due to the poor weather. Sarah and Michael brought along their son, who was an absolute dream and who also got in the shoot.
Im looking forward to capturing the enjoyment, love and emotion of their day in January.
Here are a few images from the shoot which I hope you enjoy.
