September 2011

12th September Heather and David Pre-Wedding Shoot
I am really looking forward to Heather and David's Wedding in December.
Due to Heather and David's extremely busy schedule the pre-wedding shoot took place yesterday at Tynemouth.
It was clear that Heather and David are a young couple so in love and they were an absolute delight to photograph. David was suffering from a sprained ankle sustained a few days before however, that didnt stop him being a great sport even managing to piggy back Heather. Got to admit David the colour of the bruising was very impressive.
I look forward to photographing their big day in December.
Here are a few examples from yesterday

I am really excited to announce that Artful, a studio and Gallery based in Hexham Northumberland, owned and ran by Kelly Morgan, are now stocking a range of my mounted / framed and canvas prints.

3rd September
I can't believe we are in September already and the leaves are begining to change on the trees - is autumn and winter really that close?. Although autumn is such a lovely time with rich colours and wonderful light.

I am looking forward to this month with the wedding of Gary and Stacey and more pre-wedding shoots booked in. There is also an opportunity that I may have my work displayed in a lovely gallery, more details to follow.....when I have more news to report.

Gary and Stacey Pre-Wedding Shoot
Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking a lovely couple, Gary and Stacey, to Jesmond Dene for their pre-wedding photo shoot.
They were a great couple to work with and were full of fun which I think you will see from the images.
Gary and Stacey are getting married in September, Im really looking forward to capturing their big day.
Thanks for a great day last weekend guys.
Below are a handful of images from their shoot (Click on an image for a lager version)http://www.davidwebb-landscapephotography.co.uk/.

Pleased to see you're back to read more
Doesnt time fly when your're having fun (this title is probably apt) for the following image captured by Dave Ratcliffe.

I was delighted when Dave booked a workshop and we met up a few days ago.
Part of the session was to look at getting Dave to move away from using the camera in automatic. Dave soon became more confident in using Aperture Priority and using the apeture to control depth of field and the shutter speed. This area also helped Dave with looking at how to capture subjects on the move. As a consequence Dave took this wonderful image of the Breitling aircraft and the wingwalker at the Sunderland airshow.
Dave said" Many thanks again David.....your tuition has certainly paid off...been to Sunderland Air Show today and I am 'making them stand still'.. ( see attached).
Well done Dave a great image that you should be proud of. Dave has also signed up with ephotzine
http://www.ephotozine.com/ where he goes under the name of  DARATCLIFFE and started to display a number of his images from his travels.

Gateshead Summer Flower Show
I had a great 3 days at the above event and wish to thank everyone for their kind words and buying my images.

Thank you
I also wish to take this opportunity to thank Nicola Beldham for signing up to be a follower of my blog. Thanks Nicola that is greatly appreciated.

July 2011

26th July 2011 - Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition
Great news...... just had word that I have been short listed for Landscape Photographer of the Year, keeping everything crossed.

More later.......

The British weather is so unpredictable - you get yourself geared up and excited for some incredible light only when you get there its absolutely sheeting it down. This was a recent experience when leaving home to drive to Cullercoats. Leaving home the weather, clouds and light were extremely promising, as I got through the Tyne tunnel I was unable to turn off my lights and windscreen wipers due to the poor weather......all the best laid plans, so its was back home, feet up and a glass of wine, ho hum.
So far in July Ive not had much opportunity to get out and take new stuff. Though I did manage to get a couple of images of poppies at the bottom of Penshaw Monument during late evening. The sky didn't quite change in colour as much as I would have liked at that time of the evening, but sometimes you have to accept a compromise. The aim was to capture movement in the poppies, hope you like it.

2012 Landscape Photography Calendar

The team from Sheridan Design - who are in the process of printing my 2012 A4 size calendar - have been great to work with and I would have no hesitation in recommending their professional and friendly services. The calendar incorporates images from the North East and beyond and comes complete with an envelope making it suitable for posting.  Available to purchase very soon.

It was an absolute delight to attend the MG Tyne Tees Club rally which culminated by the green at Durham Cathedral. Not only was it a pleasure to meet up with Peter Ebdon again (Chairman of the MG Club Tyne Tees Centre) and his wife Lyn and their members, but it was wondeful to have the opportunity to photograph such a wonderful dispaly of old and new MG vehicles. One of the oldest vehicles has recently taken 40 years (YES THATS RIGHT 40 YEARS) to reconstruct. How  dedicated is that?.
The members were a great bunch and made me feel very welcome. I wish to thank Peter and his wife Lyn for inviting me along.
Below are just a very small number of images - there are alot more to view on my web site:
www.davidwebb-landscapephotography.co.uk

Earlier this month I took photographs of a band made up of students from ESPA college in Sunderland. Emma Geldart the music Tutor at the college arranged for the students to play their first gig at the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland. The students played brilliantly and done Emma proud as well as themselves, their parents and friends. Below are a handful of images taken at the venue unfortunately it wasnt possible to seek permission from the students to allow me to put images of them playing on this or, my web site. However, what I have attached are several pictures of Emma and other talented staff members from the college who were the warm up act to the big event.

My new 13 page A4 2012 wall Calendar is now on sale for £8.50. The calendar contains many of the North East's iconic images, please refer to article written earlier to view the images in the calendar.
I am attending the Gateshead Flower Show Friday 29th July to Sunday the 31st July, where I shall have the calendars for sale in addtion to many mounted prints and canvases

June 2011

Hi welcome back!.
June has been very busy - my intention was to write things down in draft form as they happen - which would simply leave me to publish the blog at the end of the month - whats the saying about the best laid plans!. There has always been something to do - which has had to take preference over the blog.
Anyway here goes.......I'm typing as fast as my two fingers will let me.

June has been another mix of tuitions, a craft fair, 'Lifestyle' portraits sessions, meetings with couples who have booked me to photograph their weddings, organising prints for customers, preparing images for the Landscape Photographer of the year competition and a meeting with a local company who are designing and printing my calendars for 2012 - phew.

Hepple Family Lifestyle Portraits
Below are a some images from a Lifestyle Portrait shoot with Emma, her brother Adam and, her younger sister Caitlin.
Emma - as you will see is heavliy pregnant - done amazingly well - I did have my first aid kit in the car just in case - but thankfully for me - and Im quite sure Emma was pleased too!!.
It was a great session and they were a pleasure to work with. They are a very close family and I think that comes across in the images.

Oliver Dominic's Portraits
Oliver is a lovely handsome and happy little chap and I was delighted to be asked to take some portaits of him recently. The shoot had to take place in-doors due to the great British weather (yes it was pouring down). However, I think we made the best out of a bad situation and managed to get some lovely results.

Sandra's Images
Sandra is another regular student of mine who is starting to get more out of her photography by taking control of the camera and learning to get the best out of its functions. I am very proud of the way Sandra has developed her confidence and photographic skills since starting regular sessions in February.
Recently Sandra informed me that she has just purchased a more up market SLR camera and is also hoping to buy a macro lens. I gave Sandra a lesson in Macro photography techniques recently and, she was so impressed with her results that she is considering having one of her images printed onto canvas - thats great news Sandra and I look forward to seeing that one.
In the meantime I have attached some of Sandra's earlier images up to more recent. I will add more images in the future.

There will be more to add for June but its time for a break - catch up soon - please dont forget to sign on as a regular follower or to leave a comment, thank you.
